Before launching my business, my communication and leadership skills afforded me success in the military, business consulting, advertising sales, and big- ticket sales at two Fortune 50 companies.
My trusted-advisor / trusted-friend communication and leadership style helped build credibility, confidence, and trust with colleagues, clients, and customers.
My background includes experience as vice president of operations and business consultant at a boutique business consulting firm in Chicago.
In addition to working on client projects, I was responsible for business development, marketing, and sales.
I wrote prospecting letters, emails and business proposals offering our firm’s services to Fortune 1000 companies.
In 2007, I co-led the firm to its first- ever profitable year.
Additionally, my background includes experience as an advertising account executive at a community newspaper and lifestyle magazine publisher in Leesburg, Virginia.
I sold and wrote multimedia advertising copy for accountants, attorneys, doctors, dentists, optometrists, audiologists, veterinarian, real estate brokers, banks, art galleries, jewelers, women’s and men’s clothing boutiques, insurance agencies, restaurants, equestrian events, home furnishings shops and a variety of building trades businesses throughout the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area.
I wrote new copy and revised clients’ existing copy to create direct response advertising targeting consumers (B2C) and businesses (B2B) in four of the most affluent counties and two of the most affluent cities in the United States – Arlington County, Fairfax County, Loudoun County and Prince William County, Virginia and the City of Fairfax and the City of Falls Church, Virginia.
The ads were published in community newspapers, business newspapers, affinity and lifestyle magazines, and on each publication’s Website.
Within eight months, I was transferred to larger circulation publications, given an expanded territory, and made primary account executive for an up-market community newspaper located in Northern Virginia’s horse country in Middleburg, Virginia, an hour’s drive west of Washington, D.C.
